HOLY WEEK SERVICE BOOKS:The text we will be using for Holy Week and Easter worship is the beautiful
translation by Fr. Leonidas Contos of blessed memory. The Services for Holy Week and Easter which he and Fr.
Spencer Kezios have published through Narthex Press has been thoroughly researched with very careful
scholarship and a most meticulous design. They have also published Lenten Liturgies which contains the services
of the Pre-sanctified Gifts and Liturgy of St. Basil which are prayed during Great and Holy Lent. These are the
only translations approved by the Liturgical Commission of the Holy Synod of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese.
Fr. Contos has also written The Lenten Covenant which features outstanding commentary on the Triodion. This
book provides a better understanding of the mind of the Church, and its heart, with a focus on one’s personal
approach to Great Lent., the “bright sadness.” Prepaid orders for these publications may be made through our
Book Store.
COME TO CONFESSION: Great and Holy Lent is a time in which we are called to cleanse our souls through the
Sacrament of Holy Confession. In addition to the regularly scheduled Saturday, 12:00 noon confessions, the
following occasions to receive the Sacrament have been scheduled:

SPECIAL GUESTS FOR HOLY WEEK It is with much love in Christ that we welcome our beloved Fr. James
Adams who will assist Fr. Michael at the services of Palm Sunday, Holy Unction, Lamentations and Resurrection.
As well, we are thankful for the gifts which chanter, Paul Pronoitis will offer during the many beautiful services
of Holy Week. Representing the Greek Nation, CG XS will attend the Great Friday Lamentations Service and
accompany Frs. Michael and James in the procession of the Epitaphios.
