Fr. Michael's Notepad
COME TO THE ANASTASI MEAL! Let’s break the fast together. Holy Trinity Church invites you to join us
for a complimentary Paschal meal immediately following the Resurrection Divine Liturgy in the Parish Fellowship
Hall. All are welcome to attend!
MINISTRY TO THE SHUT INS: Please contact Fr. Michael to arrange for Holy Communion to be brought to a
loved one who is either confined to their home or resides in a nursing home.
CAUSE FOR APPLAUSE During his recent visit to Holy Trinity, Deputy Secretary of Foreign Affairs for the
Nation of Greece Theodoros Kassimis was so overwhelmed with the beauty of the sanctuary, that he commented
to Archon Dr. James Kallins that “This Church is worthy of a gift from the Church of Greece.” Upon his return
from Greece, Dr. Kallins delivered a beautifully inscribed Chalice set from His Beatitude Christodoulos
Archbishop of Athens and All Greece. It is from this treasured Holy Chalice that the faithful receive the sacred
Body & precious Blood of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Our humble parish is honored, privileged and grateful
to have received such a pretigious gift from such a revered figure in the Orthodox world.
Holy Trinity’s art collection is enriched by the gift of churchman George Vlahos of an exquisite hand painted icon
of the Archangel Michael by the noted iconographer Stathis Trahanatzis. At the request of the donor, the work is
displayed in the Pastor’s Study for all to view. Our parish extends its thanks to Mr. Vlahos for this generous gift,
which we know will inspire the hearts of all who behold it.
This year’s Holy Week and Easter will be all the more enriched by the seasonal DVD which has been produced
and distributed, thanks to the generosity of Nick and Connie Bovis. Third in the series of DVDs, this particular
work captures the both the sacredness of our Orthodox celebration of Pascha and the beauty of our Holy Trinity
Church. All of the faithful are encouraged to take a moment before sitting down for the Paschal meal to view this
brief DVD with your family and guests.
To our own Byron Yoanidis our parish extends great thanks for so generously donating the flowers which graced
the icon of Panagia for the Heretismoi Services & Akathist, as well as for the Veneration of the Holy Cross, on
which Sunday blessed carnations were distributed to the congregation. We also thank our tireless and dedicated
Tony Cherolis for the countless hours spent decorating both the Panagia Icon and Holy Cross for these moving
liturgical observances. What a blessing it has been to hear the angelic voices of the Ladies Chant group singing so
beautifully the responses at the Salutations and Akathist Hymn. Directed by Connie Vrionis, assisted by Fareeda
Christ, Beverly Roosakos, Eleni Stamatis, Paula Kosturos-Tzoumbas, and Cynthia Zamboukos, this gifted
group of ladies will be chanting the hymn Kymati Thallasi at both the Good Friday Lamentations Service and
prelude to the service of the Anastasi! We thank them for this blessed offering of praise!
Heartfelt thanks are extended to Rina & Louis Antonis, Diane and Ernie Antonis, Nadia Basalski, Martha &
Ted Capinaris, Helen & Homer Coreris, Irene Mullin, Rola & Spiro Johnson, Lella & Dr. Anthony Kakis,
Eleni & Tom Karas, Dr. Dean Kardassakis, Angeliki & Kosta Kasidiaris, Karen & Raymond Katsanes,
