Holy Trinity Choir
The choir is very excited about
the Sunday school children
learning our liturgical music
and being able to actively
participate in singing the Divine
Liturgy. We are hoping that
many of the children will learn
to love the church's music as
much as the adults do and will
not only learn about their faith
and our beliefs, but will grow
up to become members of the
adult choir, where ever they are.
The women's chant group
continues to be an active subset
of our choir. They sing during
special mid week services, e.g.
the paracleses services and
during selected services during
Lent. On October 21, you may
have heard the womenfs chant
group singing while the
congregation recessed after
Divine Liturgy. They are
directed by the talented
Constance Vrionis. Among the
|
participants in our women's
chant group are Fareeda Christ,
Eleni Stamatis, Beverly
Roosakos, Paula Tzoumbas and
Cynthia Zamboukos.
A portion of the choir will also
be singing at a wedding for a
visiting Greek Orthodox woman
from Dallas. They are planning
an intimate wedding at the old
Holy Trinity Church on 7th
Street. As a special homage to
her father, who was a well
known chanter in her childhood
home town, she has asked the
choir to sing at her wedding.
We are happy to help, so a
small group will be able to
participate.
The choir is also looking
forward to participating in the
Mosaic Dinner program on
November 11, 2007. Hope to
see many of you there.
If any of you would like to join
the choir and you haven't done
so yet, please contact the choir
director, Voula Brown, or one
of our choir members. Anyone
who can carry a tune and can
participate at least half of the
time is welcome. Rehearsals
are after Divine Liturgy
approximately twice per month.
Rehearsals are November 11,
November 25, December 9 and
December 23.
