Greek Church Heals Rift by Re-election of 11 Trustees
By a majority vote of 180 paid-up members, the Orthodox Greek Church of Holy Trinity healed a schism last night.
Eleven trustees, who have bitterly opposed turning over business affairs of the church to the Archbishop in New York, were re-elected.
Their re-election means that Rev. Basil Lokis, whose recent occupancy of the pulpit was followed by schism and court action, will be dismissed
as assistant pastor.
In his stead will be Rev. Dionysios Demessianos, brought to San Francisco from New York when the situation became tense. Rev. Lokis professes
fealty to the Patriarchate of Constantinople with which the church has always been affiliated. Rev. Demessianos is of the Patriarchate of
Antioch.
